Curious Visitor

Meet gimpy. This is a crow that often hangs around my girlfriends house in Montecito, California. Every day he comes by their house and visits them when they go on daily walks in the neighborhood. They toss out treats for him and he always comes down to grab some. He gets his name because he walks with a little gimp! One evening, with a light drizzle, he came by into the backyard to try and gets some snacks as usual. He perched at the edge of their roof, and I snapped this photo of him. I love the inquisitive look in his eye and head posture that just shows that this intelligent bird is thinking of something, and thinking about what he’s looking at. Crows are very smart as a species, and you can clearly see that intelligence in the poise of Gimpy.
