This male Anna’s Hummingbird is one of the many that grace our front garden daily. Perched in our apple tree on a small lone branch, he basks in the setting sun. Humming birds don’t often stop moving, since they have incredibly high metabolisms. They need to feed every 10-15 minutes while active during the day to survive. So I got lucky when this little guy decided to take a break on this little branch for a few minutes. I’ve photographed this particular humming bird a few times now, and he is distinguishable by the slightly offset beak! Maybe he needs a name… Skewie?
